Josephine Cameron: Music

This Old Town

(by Josephine Cameron)
I wrote this song for the short film, "Montana," starring Hayes MacArthur and Asa Pingree, and directed by Andrew Dresher. It was fun to write a song with a specific story in mind, and I even got to hang around a movie set and have my acting debut! The thing that I did not expect was how much waiting around there is on a movie set. One day, we spent hours and hours shooting a scene where I said one word: "Fine." (And delivered it with impressive depth and emotion, of course!) It was a fun project and I'm glad I had the chance to work on it. I hope you enjoy the song!
Another day in this old town
Another hour just driving round
And round again
Round again

Another day the leaves turn brown
Another week they’re falling down
Down again
Down again

And I’m spinning my wheels in this old town
And I’ve spent another year just driving round
In this old town

I said I’d leave a thousand times
I never do I don’t know why
I lied again
Lied again

I said I’d leave, I said goodbye
I came right back I don’t know why
I tried again
Tried again

And I’m spinning my wheels in this old town
And I’ve spent another year just driving round
In this old town
In this old town

Another Friday night and you’d think everything’s
All right, all right
Well Saturday and Sunday never change
And Monday comes and everything’s the same
And Monday comes and everything’s the same

And I’m spinning my wheels in this old town
And I’ve spent another year just driving round
And I’m spinning my wheels in this old town
And I’ve spent another year just driving round
In this old town
