This summer, Josephine will be teaching Songwriting for Kids classes for children entering grades K-3. During this week-long program, students will learn and analyze traditional folk songs for rhythm, rhyme, song structure, lyrics, and melody, then use what they’ve learned to write an original song as a group. Combining traditional songs such as "Lavender's Blue" and "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" with samba, pop, and gospel influences in original songs like "Holding" and the title track "Close Your Eyes," she creates a dreamy, delicate sense of calm that has gained accolades from young and old.
